Just got in a wreck..

Driving the winter car, of course, with only liability.

A fender bender happened right in front of me, I was slamming on my brakes and smashed in to the back of a new Caddy. I'm getting all of the blame for it, saying I pushed the caddy in to another car, that hit another car.

So here I am. Sitting around, and I'm fine. Everyone else was fine, I probably only hit them doing 20ish because I was slowing down from 40. One girl wasn't wearing her seatbelt and got a little whiplash so she got a ride to the hospital, but nothing major.

$75 ticket doesn't bother me, or the damage done to my Jeep since it's just my winter car and it's all a pretty easy/cheap fix. What bothers me is, 5 days into my policy with my new insurance provider and I'm getting blamed for a 4 car wreck. Sure I should be at fault for ''following too closely'' for one car because I simply couldn't stop as fast as them, but I'm not happy about the others getting off free of tickets (following too close, no seatbelt) and it's not right that my insurance has to pay for all of the ****ups.

I'll go get pictures later once they release my Jeep. Gotta love being 17 and getting a first wreck/ticket right before I'm 18, and right after I bought a new Z28. Oh well, at least it wasn't my car.

expect your insurance to take a huge jump. alot of times if you go to court, they'll drop it to a faulty equipment ticket and give you the max fine. farmers insurance does not count faulty equipment tickets. that's what i did with 2 speeding tickets. state farm counted everything, so i went to court, they dropped them down, and i switched to farmers. saved a bit on insurance.

i'm currently fighting an incident i had recently, where i tapped someone's bumper going maybe 1mph, after they slammed their brakes on in the middle of the street (old dude)

he was fine, i was fine, i left a small crease in his bumper. i didn't even get a ticket it was so minor, and the amublance came, checked him out, sent him on his way (legally, he 'refused medical treatment') and now he's trying to say he got hurt.

so now my insurance company is on him like a pack of ***** apes.

Hopefully you can get some help out of that one ^^ witnesses are about your only hope for a rear-ender, tho

No witnesses to it. I'm not worried about the ticket, I'll do ''driving diversion'' and it will be dropped. I'm just pissed that I'm being blamed for a 4 car accident. I went up and talked to everyone and I was looking at the car ahead of the caddy which the caddy supposedly hit. Caddy had no damage on the front end and is a silver car, but the car in front that had a damaged rear bumper was also a silver car with red paint on the bumper. The guy also had no liscense or insurance. He told the cops his story first (parked at a stop light and got hit and budged in to the car in front of him) and when the cop came back to me and I tried to point out the damage he is claiming is my fault, the cop said ''well it's pretty much cut and dry and it's your fault."

Can't wait to see my insurance rate for my Z.

I do the same.. I was actually switching lanes so I could turn and was just getting on the brakes to slow down coming up to the light when they all slammed.
