just found out....(3k$)

I'd rather have medical insurance especially if your rents will pay for it vs. a few extra bucks in my pocket once a year. I haven't claimed myself until this year b/c of medical insurance. When I had my car accident 2 years ago and had 35k in doctor bills i was quite happy i had insurance as my job didn't offer it.

if you contribute a certain amount to 401k or retirement you can get a deduction for that too....
Yeah but most people who get good returns don't put a ton into 401K as most people don't go over what your work will match which is typically 3-4% if you're lucky.

wife and I usually bank the fed refund (7k ish) and spend the state refund ($700ish)

yes, we use the govenrment as a savings plan LOL.. Both of us claim single 0 on W2's.

That is a lot of moola back for being 19 and 0 kids as of now. When I was single and making 30k, I was lucky to get back 1500 smacks.

Last year I got to claim my child and wasn't married at that time and got back 5200, which shocked me, lol! That was just me and claiming the child. My wife got back 5400, claiming her two kids, so we made over 10g's last year.

This year we made to much to get earned income credit and we were still able to file seperatly, but we are married now and I only got back 2800 and she got back 2700, so 5500 all together. Married really brought it down a lot!

Oh well............

Our money is going towards some summer clothes, trip, a little stereo setup I am piecing together and maybe a down payment on a newer used car for the wife..........oh and more clothes for the new baby on its way. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

using the federal government and not only admitting it but on the internet....priceless. maybe i should point my dad who just started working with fraud to look at this forum lol. i can say no offense but either way you are an idiot. being married and claim single...lets hope governnment doesnt look at 3 years of your taxes lol. you would owe more than most people make in a year.

perhaps he is willing to show some proof that by letting the government hold MY MONEY all year I am breaking the law?

Doubt it though....

after 11 years they havent done a thing about what I CHOOSE to claim on my W2's!

Is your income not taxed or do you make 150k?
I had an 8/hr job for about 4 months (paid in around $500, then got a job where I make about 5k month (gross) for the remaining 8 months of 08, i get a big commission check at the end of the month where they take out around $1200/mo.

My buddy who works at the same place had to pay in $500 last year. The only difference is he gets school grants (did for 1 semester iirc) and I paid in $600 to my school.
