Yes I dont play fishing video games. problem?
Is there a problem!? No its completely fine you don't play fishing games. Seriously?! Yes there is a problem!,! Everyone plays fishing games!!!!!!!11!!!one!1!!

I had almost that same pioneer as one of my first subs, I had two of them in a pre-fab box with some POS 800 watt amp... I thought I was the bee's knees. This was 8 years ago and many subs ago though.

thank you for all the kind and prompt responses. so Ive now learned that a 2ohm amp is not what I should be going for. and after some further research, I think I want to go with a 4ohm amp instead of 1ohm for the quality and longevity. I like to stay around the 200-250 range and I found the Rockford Fodgate R1000-1D and the Kenwood KAC-9105D. are these okay? any other suggestions?

Get the RF R1000

way to cover your bases. how many forums did you post on? at least 3. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

do you have to buy it from Best Buy? Can your order one?

You bought a Dual 2 ohm sub. So you need to power it at 1 ohm or 4 ohms. You cannot achieve 2 ohm mono. The amps you listed are not what you want. Glad you got that figured out.

The Phoenix Gold S1000.1 includes high-level inputs and auto turn-on so you don't need to do any wiring behind the head unit or generate a remote turn-on. I recommend this over the two you listed. Phoenix Gold is making a nice come-back. This amp is larger than you need, so you have some future flexibility and headroom so you won't worry about clipping.

There are other 1 ohm stable amps you could look at. Or you could get a higher power 2 channel and bridge it. But you want to keep high-level inputs and auto turn-on or you'll need to buy a LOC to achieve that. If you want a LOC and use any 'ol amp, i recommend this one: Navone Engineering N-RHL-2

don't worry about running amps at 1 ohm when that is what they are rated for. they won't fail any sooner just because of it. in the end, the power you need is MUCH cheaper at 1 ohm. trying to get the power you want at 4 ohm, within your budget, will be challenging. RF is good also.

same response as the other forum(s).
