Just bought 2 subs and a box... help please?

So, just need to ask... this is a ported box. The setup looks a little off to me but I'm no expert. The back of the subs are in the port, the front are in the enclosure. Is this right? I assumed the enclosure was where the bass reverberated.

looks more like a box with a hole in it rather than a port tuned to a certain frequency

I fully agree. Although it was bought as it is from a store. All I need to know is if the backside of the sub goes IN the enclosure or OUT? I am not looking for anything professional right now. Income tax I will be getting a system professionally installed.

that's whats known as a bandpass. likely a 4th order.
