Just bought 05 kicker DCVR 12 loaded box

.. and i decided on the MTX 5601 600W amp to power these

i was wondering can i run this system at 2 ohms so i can get the full 300 watts to each sub? please give any personal opinions on the amp/ subs i have chosen

hmmm you know what you sould do actually? Get one of the Diamond Audio D5600.2 amps that Bimma85 has for sale. I would take that over the MTX any day. Each sub would be getting 300wrms+, as Diamond Amps are reasonably underrated. You cannot run that setup at 2 ohms...

while I agree the diamond is a great amp and I own 2

I would go with a Dclass with a 1 ohm final rating,maybe a Diamond D3600.1

or similar - I do like the MTX amps alot too,youll have to check the specs for a 1ohm load if avalible

The diamond amps are of better quality then MTX. With the voice coil setup you have, you can run your system at either 4 ohms or 1 ohm. The D3600.1 amps are great as well, I was sugguesting the D5600.2 because it is a nicer amp, and at Bimma's price it is a lot less money then the 600.1 would be.

interesting, i can really run it at 1ohm .. what would you suggest running it at 1ohm or 4 ?

and are there any benefits of getting a mono channel amp over a 2 channel amp?? just tell me what you would do to get the most power possible on my setup

u wire the subs to a 1ohm load your gonna blow your AMP. see if u could trade your subs in for dual 2 ohm ons. then u can power them up properly with out nuking your amp
