Jst trying to understand something

i am because thats a good example, however i still dont grasp how the tweeters which all basically have lower rms ratings than woofers dont get blown when youd like to be powering the woofer to its potential

because if you have a 100w amp not every speaker in the cabinet is going to get 100w, its not even split evenly, the woofers are going to use most of the power for bass, the tweets are more efficient too so they dont require as much power

If the speakers have the same impedance (8 ohms) then they will both get the same amount of power if connected directly to the amp. The tweeter will surely blow before the mid. That is why you use the L-Pad, it will adjust the power (volume level) that goes to the tweeter. Otherwise you will want to find mids and tweets that have the same power ratings.
