My friend has 2 jl w6's in a box. for $150.00 in a box. I could buy 2 12 1242s for 220 shipped with no box but brand new. What would you do?

Agree w/ him totally. Those w6v2's are way better subs IMO then the Type R's.

if you look on the basket there will be a stick with a barcode and a bunch of numbers.... th 3 numbers on the far right are ther month/year the sub was produced. If the jl's arent any more than 2 or 3 years old then id say go with them. I had 3 12w3 (v1) that were "6 months old" on the auction, turns out they were made in 2000, makeing them 4 years old at the time. even though they were old they took the abuse very very very well for old subs, i clipped the crap out of my memphis 1000d on them daily and after almost a year they finally blew. the w6's are even better dispite thier age. if they're not too old and you get ur gains right those JL's they will sound like gold. the jl's get my vote also fyi after a while jl started putting rubber trim rings instread of the cardboard ones, rubber=good

Love how people try subs out at best buy and think they ****. Try listening to a type r in a decent install instead of on a shit *** sound board they got.
