JL W7....help please!

Need your help. As I was looking thru Craigslist and I found a JL 12 W7 in a custom box for $300. The sub looks almost new. The box is nothing to write home about and I may get a new box built. But the one its in is built for the sub. I had my heart set on a Havoc but I don't know if I should pass up on this deal and I think it'll be a nice fit with my RF P1000. What do you all think? If I get the Havoc, I'll have to wait for it to be built. I can get the JL tomorrow. Or I can get a used Havoc for $260 shipped.

If the box is junk offer him 250$ for it. That's a fair price for it. W7 can perform well in a properly built box.... I don't think 300$ is too good to pass up if you had your eye on something else.

A bit of a toss-up between the two, parameter-wise. Both nice subs, both good SQ, both able to get decently loud.

Clincher for me might be the fact that the JL is a "plug-and-play" with that box; you could sell the box for $50-100 after you get the one you want built; and, no wait for the JL.

Plus you might send the CL guy an offer for less than $300 and have it accepted.

I forgot to mention, he has a JL 1000/1 amp too. I can buy all of it for $600. I'm thinking ill offer him $500 then sell the amp. I can probably get $300 for the amp.

Thats a nice amp as well! I would buy it all for $550-600. You should have no problem getting $350 for that amp

I have a RF P1000. I like it bc I have a bass knob for it and my gf hates bass so I kinda need it. I guess I could sell it or buy another w7 and just use both amps. Not sure how smart it is to use two different mono amps though. Or I could get an rf 1500 or 2500 to run two. I think you guys are right. It's too good to pass up. And I made a mistake. He wants $650, not $600. I hope he doesn't get angry with my offer.

There's actually a few w7s for sale on cl but the other ones are for the package with the same amp. But they want $800 and $1000. I emailed them to see if they would just sell the sub. One guy has a brand new w7 in the box for $500.

Lol but I have two jl w7 12 I got them used and id never pay retail but the subs kick *** im just sad as previous owner abused the hell out ofbthe cones they are all sorts of patched but but honestly even in the physical condition they are in they are 100% functional and imo still work a decent 300 dollars the pound and kill the lows

Just my opinion but if u can get it all for 500 its a good deal! Im going to get two more w7s and run 4 of them! Can't wait
