DD 9500's

I eventually am going to get a pair of 18's, running around 2k to each, 1Ω. I know that the 9500's are rms at 1500w. I have heard that they are way underated. My main question is would they handle the extra 500w a peace fine. Daily driver, at this point im not sure if Ill use it for spl

I would maybe consider them... local dealer gives student discounts. What do you mean they sound hollow?

Power handing is box dependent BTW...

when you say triple, are you talking spl here?

They would handle the power as well as any other 3" coil sub. 2KW is enough to kill anything if you're an aresehole, if you are clever enough to turn it down when they start to get smelly you'll be fine.

Thermal power handling is NOT box dependent, it is dependent on motor design and coil materials. As far as mechanical handling I'd say the DD should be as rugged as anything.

I don't think anyone here knows what the new 9500 will take. They also sound great if you use them right.

Mine laughs at 2200, and it sounds good, and kills the lows tuned at 36

just got quoted $1300 for a pair of brand new supercharged 9515i's....but i've got to drive ~4hrs from eastern iowa to get them from the dealer in chicago....deal or no deal???
