JL vs Sundown

Which amplifier would you choose? The application would b3e to drive a two sets of 6.5" components down to a 2ohm load. I am looking for both SQ and Output. Overall, where would you rank Sundown compared to all other manufacturers. What other brands compare well. Trying to figure out the price/value relationship relative to others.

jl is way ever priced but i own a 300/4 and i love it. it was in my car when i bought it and i'd never trade it. it puts out some good clean power and sounds great!! but i've never heard sundown so i can't say anything about that but everyone on here seems to pick them over anything else.

Both are great amps. (yes, I have owned both) but have you seen the price difference between the two? Plus try getting the CS out of JL that you'll get from Jacob.

Only problem with JL audio is the price tag. They really make a quality product and have since 95 (when I used them).

Sundown has better prices, Quality equipment and very good customer service.

JL audio was only into making subs when I first got into them. Now they do all kinds of stuff. Its a name thats been in the Car Audio biz for years. And the price of their products show that.

Both offer a 2 yr. warranty and both make stout amps (according to the hype).

I get alot of JL amps in on trade for my stuff if that tells you anything.

Do you get more JL's than other brands? It tells me that your marketing plan is working for you. That's a good thing.

I have no experience with Sundown, how much of a price difference is their between the 4 channels in comparison? If I couldn't see both in person and was deciding on specs and the looks of the build quality and cosmetics I'd personally go with JL, but that's just my uneducated opinion.

I'm very pleased with my three Sundown amps, but the moment JL Audio comes out with that new HD 800/5 amp (75x4 + 500x1), I'm buying one! Small and powerful!

Even with MSRP at $1,100, it's worth it to me.

I'll toss my two 8W7's and replace it with one Image Dynamics IDQ12 (or maybe IDMAX12). One amp and one subwoofer. It'll free up a lot of space in my trunk and save some weight, too.
