JL TR series speakers

So I was wondering what these speakers sound like...all the speakers in my truck are blown (and were when I got the thing) and my brother bought me the TR690-TXi 6x9's, TR600-CXi 6" , and the TR050-CT tweeters. I would love some opinions on these speakers I know they arent top of the line but they are free and better than blown speakers.

Also an amp to power these what do ya'll suggest?

i had the 6" coax and the 6x9's ..the 6's were alrite at best not very good midbass ( undeadened doors ) but the 6x9's had some good thump to them, they suprised me and everybody who heard them in my car.

yeah the main thing is theyll be amazing for free haha but im thinkin about gettin em and selling them and gettin the VRs fr the same price

or you could keep reading and not ride the JL-nut-hugging train... there is much better out there.

I still find it funny the only people who ask about JL are people with less than 200 posts

try image dynamics, focal, rainbow, morel, seas, peerless, lpg, dayton, dls, cdt, arc... etc etc

my brothers had jl in his vehicles ever since i was little that just what i grew up with they obviously arent that bad of speakers and they were free so i really cant complain bc my brother wont invest in any other brand jl will sound a hell of a lot better than the busted shit i have in my truck now

no doubt it will sound better than what you have... im simply suggesting if you plan to sell the free set in order to purchase another... that you look into expanding your knowledge beyond that of what your brother has in his vehicle. If your going to run the free set than run them

you might wanna stick with the TR's if you dont have any money to put with it if you sell them to upgrade, IMO they are fairly decent speakers, by no means are they garbage, but they definetly dont fall under audiophile....

I'm not really goin for audiophile I'm goin for more of the great sound for the ears but easy on the wallet type of equiptment I drive close to 5k miles a month constantly on the road so I figured I would upgrade the stock hu to a pioneer doubledin touchscreen for movies add a 12 or two 10s just for entertainment ya know bc I absolutely hattteee driving
