JL spec box doesn't fit in trunk.. what to do?

So I just traded a 12 W7 for a 13.5 W7 and the box I got with it doesn't fit in my trunk.... Well it does if I take out all of the floor boards back there and some of the liner on top, but i don't want to drive around like that. I plan on building another box, the only problem is the height. How I can a make a box thats wider instead of taller but will sound the same as the spec box (if that makes sence) Thanks

alter the dimensions until the box reaches an area of your liking

so do i add an inch to the lenght and take away an inch from the height?

there will be a little more to it then that you can do it that way but you are gonna have to recalculate the port length with the height change and make sure the box remains the same size with the changes...as long as you keep the same volume and tuning of the box it will still be jl spec
