okay i relooked at the speaker itself. I noticed that one wire from the voice coil going to the actual speaker snapped...i think ican fix it. To prevent this from now on, should i get an amp. I was thinking the jl 300/2. The only problem is i dont want to have another problem with my electrical system. I have a 150 amp alternator with a jbl 1200.1, do u think adding this amp wiill be okkay?

I would pull each speaker and test as well . Check with a DMM and a different HU or? as stated. A 12v battery and an Old HU usually works just fine
