JL Slash V2s...

Well put, you sound like a customer I would love to have. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
As far as changing..personally I do it more from boredom. The majority of products I own/use/sell/etc do not fall short of satisfying me, I just simply get bored from looking at some of them. I also dont take a loss if/when I sell em. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

****, I glad you admitted that, because I never could. To be honest, I just like testing out new car audio all the time. I had two JL 1000/1's and ended up selling them just outta boredom.

You forgot the rest of the quote "...I want to be a wise man with smart friends." The way I heard it of course related to flying and "lucky" was in the place of "smart."
The wise man who wants to maximize his dollar will also tell you buy good once and have forever, buy cheap over and again and forever not have.

I paid top dollar for my amps in '96. I still have every one of them in pristine condition to this day. I make really good money and my wife should make more tham me this year. I still shop around a lot before buying something and even then I sweat the pennies. I was in college when I paid close to $2500 for the 3 amps that I still have. That was a huge chunk of money to me back then, still is to me now in fact even though I make close to 4x what I did then plus my wife's income. Those amps were a long term investment and over their life so far have cost me about $250 a year.

There are a lot of people on this board who call JL overpriced. These same people change their equipment as often as their underwear because they're never happy with what they have. They keep jumping to the flavor of the month and sell the used stuff at a loss. Over the course of a year or two they have thrown away enough money to have bought a full set of "overpriced" amps that would have served them well for many years. Ahh, the foolishness of youth...
ding ding ding

i doubt it would be the same thing in a different shell... maby differences in the RIPS or distortion levels... obviously not power output... it looks to be a bit larger than the v1's maby it's a larger version or something reduced complexity for a lower price... who knows! i'm interested thought it's gotta be different cause jl wouldn't do something that dumb... or at least they haven't yet...

hey, maybe these amps will produce 200% of their rated power, right?
haha that percentage you are attempting to quote gets bigger everytime you say it... get a life and do something wiser then following me around trying to flame... like shoot yourself in the foot, that would be more usefull

no man, remember the v1's do %175%%. i'm sure these do %20%0%%%... atleast.

that has been established as possible... remember (EVERYONE) telling me that even a bad amp could be putting out 150% of rated.... well it is a fact that a jl 1000/1 is underrated so if you figure that the jl is putting out 1200 watts... which is what was people agreed that a JL COULD do within fully functional parameters.... then hiking the gains on a high voltage input should very well possiblly get you 1800 watts even though it will sound like **** (clipping)

MEEEE TOOO!!!
so coming from a person that has an almost all jl setup, you wouldnt be happy with an all jl setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

did you actually read what he was replying too?

no i thought when he said he was a minority that he was a teenager able to afford JL setup

back to the topic at hand, the v2's look to follow the new 'A' series line-up outer shell, looks more like a v1 slash amp with an 'A' series amp thrown together

i personally like the v1 much much better, looks sleeker and cleaner, but thats just my opinion
