JL Audio W7/ W6 choosing

I'd rather get a couple of Dayton Reference HF's for sound quality. The 10" 8ohm model has a surprisingly low f3 in a sealed box compared to other 10" woofers. Low inductance, low distortion...can't beat it for the price.

Thanks all you guys looking out for me. Now would a DC subwoofer be a possibility? I seem to hear great things on their spl, how is there sound quality?

Sorry guys i thought that last post didnt make it up there my bad. But how could i get a hold of one of those because i cant seem to find them anywhere online?

I'd have to agree with cl1ckclack, I honestly thing JL is a bit hyped up and over priced. Don't get me wrong, if a JL fits the budget and application, by all means do it! I have a friend with a single JL 8" and it seriously out bumps my other friend with 2 12" P2's AND has great SQ! But I would have to say for what you are trying to accomplish and a budget like that, there are better options, I personally like the IDMax suggestion above

There is a lot of hate on the webz for JL. 99% of it is because the posters only judge a sub by its capability on the meter and wouldn't know actual high fidelity sound if it smacked them in the face. The other subs posted have the potential to get louder than the JLs but none of them are going to sound as good doing it. The reality is that either of the JL subs you are looking at will probably get more than loud enough for your tastes. If you want the JLs, by all means don't let a bunch of internet whiners deter you.

This... This forum has become such a joke. People say the same stuff over and over with little to none experience with equipment outside of Sundown and FI.

Well I know SQ, and the JL are good preformers, however there are many options that can equal or best the JLs for less money, so why not. Beyond that if he were to blow the JL, it has to go back to them for a high dollar recone.

Being I was the only one to mention Sundown and FI, I assume you are refering to me. So I will respond by saying I have auditioned more brands and models of equipment than you can count on you an your sister with 6 fingers hands and feet. The Sundown SAZ1000d will stomp a JL600 into the ground and is a hell of a deal, sq and raw power, and the Fi BL a great match for that amp, giving great sq and SPL. Yes there are other brands, and I could make a list as long as your arm, but the 3 suggestions I have made are rock solid, and I doubt you can disput that

I'm running 2 10w7 sealed right now. Before that, i ran 1 12w6v2 in a ported box. Don't recall the exact specs on the box ATM. But i personally like the w6v2 more than the w7. Sounded better. I drive a tahoe, too!
