JL Audio W7/ W6 choosing

Hello, I am in the market for new subwoofers and i have narrowed it down to the Jl Audio brand. Yesterday i went to my local shop and narrowed my choices down to the w7 and w6. I a very into sq but i like definently like some occasional pounding. I would not love spending the extra $150 on the w7 but if necessary i will. I drive a tahoe and want only a single 10 or a single 12. Will most likely be buying the new jl xd 600/1 amp. From what i heard the w6 has exceptional sq and decent thump while the w7 has very good both. Please give me some advise preferably from owners or people who are very familiar with these woofers. also some info on RE audio, i have a buddy who swears they crush JL but i have never heard of them. thanks

Ive looked at JL before, because you can get a lot better for the money. so once again... lol

whats your budget? and are you looking for pure SQ?(sound quality) or SQL ( sounding nice but loud)

Im trying to decide between the w6 and w7 also. I was going to get a ID max but I can get a W7 for the same price.

I would do the saz1000 for the money (super rock solid amp that will do more than rated and do it 24-7-365)

saz1000d and Fi BL12 total $550, well under your budget and will kick the hell out of the JL Audios azz!

I was hoping to buy at the shop.. which is authorized but they are a large JL dealer with few other choices. And JL seems less and less like my pick with these recent post.

There is a lot of hate on the webz for JL. 99% of it is because the posters only judge a sub by its capability on the meter and wouldn't know actual high fidelity sound if it smacked them in the face. The other subs posted have the potential to get louder than the JLs but none of them are going to sound as good doing it. The reality is that either of the JL subs you are looking at will probably get more than loud enough for your tastes. If you want the JLs, by all means don't let a bunch of internet whiners deter you.

$60 less than a W7 on eBay:

Run each coil at 4 ohm to a channel on the US Acoustics for an under rated 300@4 and that should put you very close to RMS rating on the sub and stay extremely clean.

Sub: $450 shipped

Amp: $244 Shipped

Total: $694 all for the cost of a single W7.

a w7 and a 600w amp is NOT worth 750. unless its pure SQ. From a company like Focal or similar. we are just trying to help the guy out. because i can promise him that if he decides to get one of the subs or amps mentioned, he will never go back to JL. and he will probably pay half the price for it as well.
