I know the w7 is not made to be the loudest woofer, but I have a 10" w7 in an H.O. wedge ported enclosure, a 500/1 jl audio amp, and an alpine cda-9815 hu, what kind of db's should I be looking to get??(system not hooked up yet, waiting for amp)

I am thinging mabey along the lines of 138 or so, anyone have any ideas??

its going to be in the back of my 2000 grand am, I am asuming the mic would be placed at the front passanger dash, is that not were they are at comps???

Probably about 135db's Lin X with only 500watts, you could get up to 137-138's with more power, maybe like 700-800watts which that sub can certainly take. I do like the custom HO ported boxes, the W7's sound REAL nice in em.

another thing on my mind, i dont know if you ave ever watched the w7 video showing the excurtion of it on the jl audio sight, but how many watts would I have to feed it to get lets say 3 inches of excurtion??

considering the one way xmax on a 10w7 is 23mm (.9in), i dont think with any ammount of power you will reach 3 inches of excursion, but with 500 you will be able to reach the w7s full excursion (though not 3 inches //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif )
