JL Audio -Vs- MTX

If you already have them, how about you just hook them up and decide which one you like better:confused: btw, those 9500s are trash imo. paper weights are needed though..

well that 9500 should beat that 12" w6 in all cataegories i would think, it takes alot more power, iv heard of a 9500 on 1.5k and a W6 will fry on 1k true rms

both can retain nice SQ i beleive. of course EVERYTHING is determined by your enclosure so take your time and do the 9500

thats just my .02

I HAD A JL 12W6V2 POWERED BY AN MTX 81000D(TRUE 1000RMS) FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND IT DID JUST FINE IN THE RECOMENDED PORTED BOX. THE BIRTH SHEET THAT CAME WITH THE AMP SAID 1250 WATTS AT 12.5V. THE MTX SUB MAY GET A LITTLE LOUDER BUT THE W6 WILL EAT IT ALIVE IN THE SQ DEPT.

umm no, first off because your "birthsheet" said that i bet you didnt get that out of it and secondly iv ran a ton of W6's back when i loved JL, i ran one in the HO box JL SOLD IT WITH and ran it on a 1000/1 with gains set correctly and after no more then 20 days it fried

go to ROE and the great 12 challenge, read up on their results, for music its bad to run even over 900 rms and they fry at the 1k mark

i bet he got more than that out of the 81000 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

iv ran them also i doubt it, they can get 1k and thats about it at 12.5... lol i bet he has no backup power or anything and i ran mine on near 15 volts in perfect conditions and its powerful but not over 1k, a 1000/1 has more power.... i picked up .5 dB on the same 13w7 when i switched to the 1000/1

Who cares how much power it can handle.. The fact is these subs arent comparible at all, and let me tell you, the mtx's cant handle power that well for what they are.. Ive seen to many of those cones come back cracked.
