jl audio 500/1 and cap?

My friend has a jl audio amp and a .5 fraud mtx cap. When the bass hits when we are watching a dvd it cuts out and the lights blink like crazy. Does he need to upgrade to a 1.0 cap or what. It doesnt do it through the alpine C-801 it only does it when we watch a dvd. the dvd player is legacy SVDVD8

sounds like that Legacy is suckign WAY too much juice....

try and upgrade the electrical systeem (better alternator) or ditching the LEcagy for something a little better quality that will be more efficient...

Your best solution would probably be to get a high output alternator.

well the reason he went with legacy is cause it plays svcd and all that burned crap. I personally think that maybe the cap isnt charged cause the lights blink pretty hard on deep bass notes when its up all the way. Also he has one wire that a ton of stuff is running off of could that be it... how do you go about charging a cap....

to charge a cap you do the following..

first you are going to need a towel, a pickaxe, and a phone book...

place the towel on teh ground, place the phone book on top of the towel... now play the cap on its side on teh phone book... pick up the pickaxe and slowly raise it above your head.
