IIRC Nate munson did something like a 169 with a 10" W7.But the DD was louder, but the W7 was still loud.

Any sub has potential.

I'd say the w7 is louder over the entire spectrum. like from 45-55 or 60Hzx the SX might be louder but lower and higher then that i'd say the w7.

I honestly wouldnt have bought a 15" SX if i had a w7

For overall woofer in the right box, I would say the W7 is just as loud and sounds better at it. But I wouldnt say there is a huge difference. I would pocket the money and get the sx.

overall louder on mic period, like comp SPL loud, I'd say SX

overall better woofer for daily driving, that'll still get very loud, maybe even sound louder than the SX to the ear, I'd say W7.

Basically if your goal is SPL comps or to just be able to say wow, guys I hit 147 on a TL, then get the SX, for anything else, W7.

the w7 can still get loud i think a 13.5 w7 with 1000/1 would eat it alive

I HIGHLY doubt this....

more Sd, more efficency

until you push that SX past Xmax you won't see the w7 win

I know the W7 is made for SQ but every setup i have heard has been LOUD...

wow, talk about some misconceptions for the w7.

the w7 has nearly 13mm more linear excursion the sx does, thus, the Sd difference becomes irrelevent. the 13w7 simply displaces more air than a 15" SX. I don't feel like doing the math to prove it. call RE, i garuntee they will say the w7 is capable of moving more air.

whoever says the W7 is simply a SQ sub is an idiot. it is an unbelievably loud speaker, coming from someone who has owned a 15" TC sound uberwoofer, a 15" brahma, and a 13w7.

no way in hellthe loudest i heard 2 13w7's was 152.6dbs on a a/c 190 mic

so that around 148 on the new tl mic

and that was off 2 orion 1200d's at .75ohms

yeah and thats pretty good... i wasnt doing but 144.3 on TL with (2) 13w7s and an Orion 2500d at 1.5 ohm... box about 8.5 cu ft and tuned about 36 Hz...90sq inch port ..in a SUV... even though it still got me 1st in my class and has gotton 1st in most local comps and 2 state records in a BS organization....it should be louder

i say for the money you would spend on a w7, get a treo ssx 15" and give it crazy amounts of power. you would easily smoke the hell out of the w7.
