JL Audio 10w1v2 and Alpine MRP-M500 - Too Much Power?

I have one JL Audio 10inch 10w1v2-4 sub, and I wanted to buy a Alpine Mrp-M500 amp for it, the amp is about 300watt RMS and according to Crutchfield, this sub can handle 300watt RMS and peak at 600watts....

My question, is everybody's opinion, on the combination of the two. Is it too much power?

I'd like to get a JL Audio AMP for the sub, but they are just too high. I found a deal on the Alpine and I like the amp itself, just wasnt sure on the compatibility of the two.

Thanks in advance for any help. I truly appreciate it!
