JL Audio 10W1v2-4

Alright, I received my sub finally. I found that this 10" sub takes a bit of convincing to FIT in the 10" speaker box(odd). Used a rubber mallet and gently bumped it in all the way around. The screw holes lined up perfectly is the best part(if anyone wants to note that, Infinity kappa perfect vq 10 lines up with eclipse sw6010 screws perfectly), and this subs fit is so tight that I can gently push down on the cone for as long as I want and it springs back immediately(Genuinely sealed, excellent I suppose?).

I did manage to destroy one of my RCA cable ends in the process somehow while bending the other one as well. Don't ask how but the male inputs were bent and cracked the metal. Corner of box must have caught it when I moved it around. I'll get a new set and try it out.*

I've been working all of today. I'll go out and pick up a pair tomorrow and put it in. I would do it now but I don't want to run the wire with it dark outside, can't see anything. I did try it with the 1 semi decent rca plugged in and it seems to be hitting very accurately. Can't wait to get it done tomorrow! Wish I just wasn't an idiot and moved the cables out of the way. ya well. I'll keep you posted.

Alright! Got the new rca in. All I have to say is that I can keep my bass at -7 again. Rage Against the Machine and Pink Floyd never sounded so good. SUPER clear hard hitting bass. I want to adjust it overall now that I can have the bass at 0 and sound great. Just because I want more mids coming out of my interior speakers. I can't thank you enough for all of the advice! You might not be the "know-all" but you told me more than I needed to know. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks man!

Great to hear. Just wait until you get it dialed in at 0 without cutting the bass. I have never heard another sub that accurate with that much low bass in a 10 under $200. They have a very heavy aluminum cone reinforced with kevlar, that is why they put out so much low, deep bass. The closest comparison is an RE SE, which is no longer produced. The eclipse has a little more spl from audible to 40 hz. The re a little more spl from 40-80hz. Both are phenomenal sql subs for under $200. The eclipse is better for rock because it can reinforce the kick drum so accurately. Pay attention and you can pick out the mallet striking the kick drum on a lot of songs. The RE can't do that as well.
