JL Audio 1000/1 Problems

Check your ground. I have the same amp and mine would cut in and out sporadically. Took it apart and everything, checked the ground last and I should have checked it first. Worked fine after that.

Hey all. I took the amp to the local car audio shop and had it tested. The subs were blown and the amp went into protection mode. It was too much power for those little subs. But The amp does work AND I got a refund from the seller for $550. So I only paid around $100 for the amp.

I did purchase a new one (the black special edition 1000/1 - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300132741859&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=020 )

So basically I got 2 1000/1 amps for about $700.

I was thinking about getting 2 12w6v2 in a JL Custom ported box. Im not sure what to do with the whole amp thing though. Could I hook both of the amps up to the subs like one amp per sub or would that be too much?

why are u getting 2 12W6s? i thought u said u had 2 127s...and I wouldnt power two W6's with 1000 a piece, one 1000/1 would be plent for 2 W6's, the W7's on the other hand are a different story

No, I had it hooked up to 2 12" kicker comps until i bought the JL Audio subs

But do you think those 2 12v7's would be too much for a 2000 accord coupe?
