So I'm adding a JL Audio 6.5" 6w3v3 to my car, up front. I don't have a camera to show exactly where I want to add it, but the pictures I pulled off google should make it clear. Basically in front of the cup holders there's a little shelf where you can put cds and stuff. I want to cut the shelf out, leaving the cup holders. And forge a sealed box that will fit. (The bottom will need to be curved to fit the contour of the floor and mounted in some manner.)
My main question is in what direction should I mount the sub. At first I thought upwards but that will probably rattle the dash. I'm thinking towards the floor is my best bet.
I'm worried if it's facing down, it will almost appear to be completely inside of the box. Will this kill the response?
