Problem with wied noise.... car not running (not alt whine).
I am using a JL 500/1 for the sub and JL 300/4 bridged for my fronts. When I connect the RCAs out of the 500/1 pre-outs to the 300/4 I am getting a noise. It is only noticeable when the volume is all the way down or between tracks but it sounds like a continuous sine wave sweep up and then down and then back up again…. Only noticeable in the high freqs.
If I bypass the 500/1 the noise totally goes away. For now, I am going to use a pair of Y cables and just feed to the 500/1 for the sub and then directly to the input of the 300/4 and not use the pre-out from the 500/1. I don’t really loose any functionality as the 300/4 also has a built in HP x-over.
Already double checked the ground and power wires, etc. Disconnected the RCAs into the 500/1 and the noise is still there, so it has to be a problem with the pre-out section feeding the noise not picking up interference from the HU or the RCA runs to the back.
