So can you not run a remote wire, and turn the signal sensing on, and it will come on when the rcas have juice?

Yep, and it will actually allow you to use the remote terminal as a remote turn on source to use to turn on other amps.

But its only designed to be used with a high level source though. It may not work on low level sources
