JL 500/1 Delayed Bass Response......

I have a JL 500/1 Pushing a 12w6 in a Sealed Enclosure

If my volume isnt at about 16 which is pretty loud(Alpine CDA-9885) the Amp does not power on.

That being said if I turn the radio to 16 immediately it takes about 7-8 seconds for the amp to actually start pushing the Subwoofer.

If I turn the radio down to talk to my passengers the amp powers off.

The amp is brand new and it works perfectly when loud so I dont think it's faulty as much as it is a bad setting.

I set it per JL's specs so I dont know what to check first. Where should the input sensitivity be set?

I did get the remote bass knob from JL but I have not installed it yet, will that help?

Sounds like you have a loose remote wire, you should check the entire length of it. The volume has nothing to do with the amp turning on.
