How you wire the sub is not going to affect how it "hits", it only affects the impedance the amp will "see". Whether or not you need to wire them in series and in parallel will depend on the amp

manosteel you have a long way to go my friend...lots to learn. the search feature helps but i'll sum this up for you. if you can get an amp that will run stable at .75ohm then you'll get power out of that amp instead of 3 ohms (in most cases, also depends on the amp). if you have stupid amounts of money to spend get an overpriced JL 1000/1 and run it at 3 ohms.....if not do some research for an amp that will be stable at 7.5ohms

i actcually have the jl 1000/1 already but i didnt see anything in the hand book saying it will

run stable at .75 ohms . would it be better to run it in series then ? thanks for the advice i am new at this and im tryn to learn all that i can about the does and donts.

Yes. 13W7 = Dual 1.5ohm coils, 10w7 and 12w7 = SVC 3ohm coil

Well, you can't really definitively answer that, because the amount of difference it makes depends rather dramatically on how much signal modification the factory HU does. In cases where there was significant alteration of the signal by the factory HU, it can make a night and day difference.

If you have JL 1000/1, then you should know it puts out the same power from 1.5-4 ohms. You would gain NOTHING(other than possibly frying your amp) if you ran it at .75 ohms. Just let the amp see a 3 ohm load, and you are fine.

hmmm off subject but i was justwonder if the jl's werent regulatate i wonder what they would put out at 1 ohm if they put out 1000 at 4? im talking the 1000/1
