Well I picked up a JL 12w3 for practically nothing...

One similar to this;

On first glanced I noticed that I need a new dust cap and surround...I was bored and decided to rip off the old dust cap and surround.

But now I'm sitting here, wondering is the woofer any good to begin with?

As I lift the remaining cone section, It seems that the magnet inside is rubbing slightly...of course I think this is due to me lifting the cone slightly bent.

But when I use my DMM, I don't even get an ohm reading from either coil.

Hmm, Any ideas? The sub seems like a good sub, also something that could come in handy for a future install.

Thanks

its blown an its ruined an if i recall jl doesnt do recones, but if im wrong then they are probably teh same price as buyin the sub new all over again. so its not worth nothing to you
they do but yeah might as well buy a new sub. And i think they only do them if they were purchased from authorized dealer

Just ripped the woofer apart //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Have a nice basket and motor now...just have to clean it up...
