JL 12w0 RMS?

I recently bought 2 JL subs in a sealed JL powerwedge box. I took the subs out and they're JL 12wo-8. They are currently wired in a parallel(4ohm) to a fosgate power 360a2 which does 360rms at 4ohm(so like 180rms each). I plan to upgrade to a mono class D sub amp.

I have been told that these subs can handle much more power than the 125rms that they're rated for, especially in a sealed box. So about how much power can I use for two of these at 4 ohms in a sealed box?

As long as you watch the gains and listen for any distortion or mechanical noise from the subs you should fine with a higher power amp. JL makes good stuff but the O series subs are built for low power applications and have their limits. I'm not sure how long they would last if pushed too hard.

edit: forget all that other stuff I wrote earlier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif

would a 500 rms amp work for both? I read online that someone put 600rms to one that he didn't care about and it worked, don't know how long though. LOL

That would be me.

500rms sounds pretty good for two of them. Just be carefull....alot is dependant on the box they are in. Mine was in a fairly small box when I fed it 600rms. And I never really pushed all that hard except whe I made my vid.

I will say to stick with your 380watts men, that's enough to make them sound good.

can someone recommend a good D-class amp? I all the 500-600w amps I see are 2ohm or really expensive. I was hoping to get away under $150 on eBay. I plan to sell RF 360a2 to help pay for it.

I have a 12w0, been feeding it around 150 RMS for a month or so, works great in a 1cf sealed...

I was gona buy a 12w3v3 and a new 400 rms alpine class D amp but saw this 12w0 for $45 @ a dealer so I could refuse that deal and test it out with my current alpine 4 channel amp...

Works great for the money...
