my very first setup i had a type E 12, and that sub got pretty loud for the price.

Well I own both subs.

Its just that I have only experienced the jl in the sealed, and the type e in the ported.

I just switched them over.. And the jl is now in the ported so we'll see what happens.

I just want to know what to expect lol.

But you really think its better? I bought it today used, and it seems to have been used well, and there is a dent in the cone. As to where my jl is fairly new, and mint.

Guess we'll see what happens tomorrow.

I figured the jl would be better, but I asked because the magnet and overall size of the alpine was bigger then my jl.

I cant say for sure, but I have JL12W1 in a ported box and it is awesome!!!

I know the WO model was a light sub, alot smaller than many 12's....but it outperformed many of them.

I put a 12W1V2 in my friend's Blazer, and it really wanged off only 140w. I put it in 2 cf @ 32hz, and it was louder than his speakers. Sounded darn good, too.

Just to throw this in-- I loved my 12W0's. Great subs.

I've heard a few Type E's, and they're alright, nothing special. I'd rather have a W1 or Comp
