JL 10w7 & PG X600.1 Question

So i have a PG x600.1 to push the 10w7 JL recommends 750 RMS max so this is where im confused

I have my Stereo turned to 75% volume and started to tune my gains till distortion then slightly down once i hear the distortion. I messed with the frequency so it doesn't play any base notes under 30hz and nothing over 60hz since my speakers put out plenty of mid bass.

BUT the thing is.. Even with the amp fully cranked up there was no distortion (bass boost off) Is something wrong? is my amp not putting out the correct current? No way i should be able to max out the gains on it? Oh and also when i play it at 25-75% gain for about 30 min its volume will drop off drastically but the amp will still be cold and playing.
