JL 1000/1 VS. Alpine PDX 1.1000

JL Audio never makes birthseet because their RIPS technonlogy means they will put out same power 11 volt to 16 volt 1.5-4 ohm load
And I have never seen a PDX birthsheet and have yet to find one on the net, if you have a link to pic give it to me please.

I think the technology of the JL slash series amps is far more better then then PDX or PG.

Especially their slash v2 and the HD series.

Now like I said, I don't want to diss on alpine or PG, as I still have my PDX and its a pretty kick *** amp, but I don't think it a better amp then a JL slash series
Man pdx's do come with birthsheets, just search.

Im sure if we saw a true JL birthsheet it would show how inefficient they are..I think the PDX's are like 90% efficient or something like that..

as far as technology, they are very similar on the level on a complex scale...granted the JL came out years before the alpines, they just now caught up..

Im still curious as to why you think the JL is far more better??

Believe wat you want..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I should have worded it differently...From a shop..not a company...If I wanted to sell all the Planet Audio in my shop of course I would claim it did tons of power..Shady business but they would be selling like hot cakes....and about 90% of the people that bought them would not have any idea
This post doesnt make sense?

You said that benchtests are worthless... Well, how do you think a company finds out how much power their amps make?

So you dont believe what manufacturers rate their amps at?

I havent read through this whole thread but I'll give my experience with both amps. Friend of mine had a JL 1000/1 installed in his truck and decided to change to a Alpine PDX 1000.1 for size reasons. Without any other changes other then swapping the amp there was a significant change in output with the Alpine. The JL was definitely louder then the Alpine.

Straight from the company=Thumbs UP

From a random local shop that just so happens to bench amps (That dislecsik guy that works there may write the numbers down wrong)=Thumbs Down

again...I should have worded it differently, my bad

Are you sure that the gains were properly adjusted?

x2

thanks for the back up pimpin.

Alpines are power hungry and require full 14.4 voltage to get down and dirty

This is true. Even their literature shows significant loss at 12v.
If you want that 1K RMS, you gotta spend some $ on some electrical

Big 3, upgraded batt up front, and prolly one in teh back to do rated, other then that you'll be doing under 1K

Yeah, IDK about one in the back.... big 3 and a g31 or something similar up front would probably do rated. Then again with a stock alt, 2 batts may be needed. Probably depends more on the car and install than anything else, but I wouldn't expect the pdx to do rated off of a stock electrical.
