jetta question

so in my new jetta, there is the double din monsoon system.

the previous owner got a ipod cassette adapter stuck in it and now I have to try and get it out.

I am just wondering if i take the HU out, will I need an unlock code when i hook it back up? i heard about some code on the vwvortex forums but they were talking about the FOB.

anyone know?
