Jensen VM9312 burned dvd's

Hi all, I'm a newb to the site but defiantly not to stereo wiring, i've wired more cars in my short life than i can shake a stick at. my question is a bit more complicated than i can figure out tho, i bought the jensen vm9312 and got it wired in, got the brake ground hooked up and the bypass code, i know on the 9311 under the "hidden" menu theres a option for "microvision" if you turn the option off you can watch burned/coppied dvd's, on the 9312 there isn't such option as microvision, I'm trying to figure out how to watch my backed up burned dvd's. it plays purchased ones just find. thanks

burned dvd's will play on any player if burned in the correct format on a dvd-r

would using a +r make em not work? i've never used a -r i've always found + to be more common
