radio not working on kenwood

Hi guys, got a kenwood kdc-x790, wired it in all right and for some reason the most common radio stations in my area dont come in, the antenna and adapter is hooked up, its not a power antenna but also isn't an external antenna. any ideas on what it could be? its in a buddy's olds achieva, he upgraded from a dual that worked perfectly on the radio and we cant get signal with the kenwood.

when you look at the harness, is there a wire on the factory harness that goes along with the aftermarket harness? meaning is there a wire on the other side of the blue wire? if so, connect that wire.

if the antenna is in the glass then most likely it has a signal booster, so you still need to hook up the ANT wire like normal. Found that out the hard way last year when I swapped HU's...
