it may be a different vehicle, but when I had the box about 2" from the back of my old Explorer it was decently louder on the meter than when I pushed it farther forward... food for thought.

yeah, next box was gonna be around 65Hz because i had heard of alot of jeeps peaking around 60-70 Hz

i just dont have the funds to rebuild quite yet

what do you mean by "headliner" ? you should keep the ports about 1-2" from the rear door, and really you want to build up pressure in the opposite rear corner of the jeep from the mic. Well, to each his own, but I was thinking that if you painted the whole box black, it would blend in with the rest of the jeep's interior a lot better. That way, it won't be as obvious to people passing by your car that you have a bunch of audio in the back.
