Jeep Comanche HU install help

I've done a ton of head unit installs and this just baffles me. First, if anyone has a wiring chart for an 89 comanche pick up it would help. Whoever put the last headunit in hacked off the harness, so this is a pain. I can get the headunit to turn on (kind of) by hooking up the battery, ground, and accessory. It will say "Goodbye" when you turn on the car and turn off. If you hit display, it will show "1:00" on the display and then turn off. It will also eject cds, but nothing else. Why would it do these things but not turn on or play? I don't have speaker wires connnected, but I doubt that matters. Any help will be appreciated.

its hooked up wrong it would be best to make your own power wires for it (for the ignition turn on wire just run it into a fuse on the fuse panel and dont worry about the dimmer wire

or he could use the wires that are already there... your constant is connected but recheck your ignition/accessory wire... make sure it's getting 12v with the key on... could be a blown fuse or you connected the wrong wire
