running my 12gti off of a gto1200.1II at 3 ohms in a sealed box built to jbl recommended dimensions... which equals too small!

I find it hard to believe these subs can handle more than twice their rated power, continuously. It would make no sense JBL would so grossly under-spec a product. I have to question some of you guys. IMO its most likely that while you may have a certain sized amplifier hooked to your GTi(s), its not outputting its its maximum potential wattage. Hooking a million watt amplifier to a speaker, then atenuating the output via gains so it only does 100 watts does not mean its a good idea to run to the boards and claim you are pushing your speaker with 1 million watts.
