1500 Daily??//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif :wow:
Yea they handle it no problem. The design of the gti allows for advanced cooling, therefore this helps powerhandling a bit. A good friend of mine runs the bpx 2200.1 on a pair, which is 2900rms, and has been for a year now. We torture them all the time, they love it.

yea ive heard they are industructable almost. I watched a movie Death of a W12 GTI and they were sick of waiting for it to blow so they started bunch and ripping it.

I had two W12 GTi MKII in a sealed box, 1 cubic foot per sub with a MMats D3500.1 running at 1.5 ohms. My amp according to matts was only running at about 2200 watts rms and they only lasted a couple of weeks before the cone blew of the casing. At this point I did not have my 230 amp alternator installed. I have not dared to install them again because it took two months to get new subs. What a waranty. I would run the rms rating in a ported box about 2.25 with a 20" square port X 13". That will put you right around 30 to 35 hz. They did hit hard just did not last long. I am hoping next time I install them they last longer.

yea they say 700rms but i give mine 1100 daily

My Question is:

Is that Rms or Max. Do you have a big enough alternator to produce that kind of power. No stock alternator even with a cap is going to produce that much power. You need to have an alternator that puts out an extra 160 amps at 13.8 volts before you are truly giving them 1100 watts per sub. Be honest here

Lol wow old thread. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I am currently giving my 15" GTI 1500rms and it wants more.

What kind of car do you have? Do you know what you are hitting for DB's, I must just of had a bad pair of subs it seems like alot people on this site are running double the rms rating countinously. What box do you have them in? and How big is it?

Wow, you guys bumped this 2 year old thread... The gtis werent mine, they were a budy of mine. He was never metered, but easily 140+ in his accord. What kind of amp did you have, and did you set the gains? He still has them running off his crown 2200.1, and they are still going strong after almost 3 years.
