i installed them months ago but only now noticed today after taking my door panel apart that the mid bass seems to not really move at all even when i turn up the music it barely vibrates as well when playing music. my rear seems to push when the bass hits but the front jbl dont move at all but it does make noise but it sounds so much higher frequency than it should like it sounds like a tweeter.. is this normal or not? i wired it into the crossovers correctly woofer with woofer tweet with tweet.

They aren't "broken"....or blown would be the more correct term. But I knew what you was askin'.

So...the good news is they still work. Because you stated they get a little bit of power but not as much as they should. I would say the x-over settings need adjusted. Or something else on your HU.

System details please.

i played with the eq on the headunit so the lower frequency were plus 12 and the woofer didn't seem to move but the rear type s were pumping away. honestly sitting in the car sounds good just when you get real near the jbl front components when you can hear the mid woofer playing high frequency idk if it sounds good because the rears are actually the ones with real sound compared to the jbl but i wanna say no since everyone talks highly of jbl 660pc and say type s is trash but its temp

idk if having 0db or plus 6 db makes much difference on the xover and my system is in network mode but it does sound more crisp than normal mode

Pull them out of the door and see if you haven't spearated the cone from the former/spider. It's pretty easy to mechanically break midranges. Might could be it's a simple fix with a 99 cent bottle of superglue.
