JBL GT or SONY P5

If I were to buy another jbl sub I'd try the Power or GTI series that's it. Why don't you look at Pioneer subs? If you want major brands go with Pioneer or Alpine subs. Otherwise I'd go with http://www.reaudio.com or you could try incriminatoraudio.com.

I wouldn't buy a sony amp, lightning audio amp or kenwood amp to power my subs. Wasn't impressed with any of them. Make sure you get a quality amp. I'd get a mono amp that is stable down to 2ohms or 1 ohm. Make sure you meet the rms requirements for the sub. I'd only use a 4 channel amp if you are going to use it for your mids and highs. I'd also get an amp that puts out 100rmsX4. If you can't afford this I'd get a 2 channel amp that puts out 100rmsX2 and run a pair of speakers off the amp in the front and you can run the rear filler speakers off the deck.

Well both of these two subs will not give you bone crushing bass and never will. My opinion the Sony is louder and more powerful. You never use the same amp for speakers and subs. Trust me!

MazdaSpeed99 i am not doubting you or trying to start a fight, but why is bad to use the same amp for speakers and your sub.

well, if you're talking about Sony, that's obvious //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but say, for example...Alpine amps and Alpine subs...or JL amps and JL subs...if there's a problem with the JL 1000/1 and 13W7 combo, that's news to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
