That Jbl driver has 250watts rms and a 4MM xmax which sucks really bad.

The sony has 350watts rms and a 7.5mm xmax.

GTO series is not the only good sub by JBL......all of JBL's sub are good......GTi's technology is advanced beyond ANY other company.......Power Series P1220D sensitivity of 95dB 1w/1m....find me some other companys medium level sub that has 95 dB sens.

the 95dB doesnt require much power at all to get it to play loud......all the other subs having 80's sens. require a shit load of power to get them to play loud.......

Well both of these two subs will not give you bone crushing bass and never will. My opinion the Sony is louder and more powerful. You never use the same amp for speakers and subs. Trust me!
