JBL BPX2200.1 Problem

I connected my 2 15" subwoofers to a new JBL BPX2200.1. the subs are single voice coil, 4ohm each. the amp sees a 2ohm load. when the bass hits it kind of skips like if a cd were to be scratched or somthing....i have to keep the amp on 1/2 gain for 10minutes to warm it up and then i can go full tilt with no problem. i have tested the same 2 subs on another amp and no problem at all. also i connected 2 dual voice coil, 4ohm subs...amp sees 4 ohm load and no problemm??? any comments?

im running 0 AWG power and 0AWG ground....the ground is good quality also.....do you think it might be the ohm load? because i changed nothing besides swapping the subs with dual voice coil subs and then there was no skipp

Well, no I dont. The amp is a 2 channel that is rated roughly 2400 at 4ohms, 2100 at 2 and 1800 at 1, or some crpa like that I dont remember exactly, but I know for a fact the amp is AT LEAST 2ohm stable when bridged.

You put new subs in, and it doesnt do it?

Check your subs connections on what you have in there, there is a chance that it's grounding itself out somehow

Other than that, it doesnt make any sense

If you've got the power and it didnt do it with different subs in the same vehicle then it shouldnt do it with those subs

yeah two woofers were single voice coil 4ohm, the amp saw a 2ohm load. When i swapped them for two of the EXACT same woofers just the dual voice coil 4ohm version, amp saw 4ohm load, then there was no skipp.... sounds weird and hard to figure out to me too

Rewire your subs(dont ask, just try it) and see if it fixes it . The only thing I can think of off top is that your subs are somehow trying to ground themselves out.

I'm probably wrong but hey, it never freakin hurt.

Same box, same setting on amp I would assume?
