JBL bpx1100.1 vs DLS A6

JBL has the advantage that it will provide 1kw+ into any load between 4ohm and 1ohm, giving you much more flexibility in subwoofer choices both now and in the future. It also has selectable 12/24db lowpass slopes if you plan on using the amp's internal crossovers.

The DLS has slightly more rated power into a 1ohm load, but the difference in power wouldn't be audible. It also has a cooling fan and a SSF (not sure if the JBL has a subsonic filter)....but I'd take more power & more flexible xover over a cooling fan & SSF any day of the week.

They both appear to be available for roughly the same price online (if that's where you were looking to purchase)......unless you really wanted the DLS name or needed matching amplifiers, I can't think of a good reason to go with the DLS over the JBL.

thank for the inputs.

squeak; my sub stage is w12gti so i think that the JBL amp is the better amp regarding the match system? i'm thinking of buying another w12gti+bpx1100.1 3 monthes later.

Definitely a better match.

At most, into a nominal 3ohm load (a single W12Gti) you'll only get around 667w out of the DLS whereas the JBL will be roughly double that. That's a potential of around 3db more output from using the JBL amp, or at the very least more available headroom from the amplifier.

Mo' power = Mo' better.

you will have the same setup as me. I am running a bpx1100.1 and a 12" gtiMKII. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif :)

Just an //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif it would probably be to much if I had this setup running ported, it gets very loud for a single sub / sealed box setup. I had to attenuate a lot to get it to match my front stage.

I have a very very sh1tty front stage compared to my sub/amp stage. I have zapco i-6.2's that are being powered off of a jbl 75.4. I've been meaning to go active for some time now but haven't had the money since I'm going to school atm. Perhaps christmas gift of something.

You will not be disappointed with the sub/amp combo though. It's a beast.....
