i went to the local JBL authorized shop to go get my amp adjusted...
and as soon as i got there the first thing he did was stick two y cables onto my RCA
he told me that no matter how much i mess with the gain, it's not going to do much if i don't send the correct amount of signal into the amp...
so i said well the JBL amp is mono, so what is it going to matter whether you connect 2 RCA inputs or 4 RCA inputs...
well he showed me what happens...the bass is consistent THROUGHOUT the WHOLE volume range, no more of that disappearing base as soon as i turn the volume down, and now i can actually HEAR distortion in my woofers, as previously i couldnt hear it AT ALL
he told me that the JBL amps are the ONLY mono amp that he knows that needs all 4 RCA inputs to have signals directed to them, he said just using 2 inputs are sending 1/2 the signals that are required
i thought he was bsing out of his a$$ until he actually put the Y-cables in and showed me wrong...
was i tricked or is it true?
