JBL bp1200.1 vs ED nine.1

You can pick them up for about the same price. Maybe jbl a little cheaper.

Which would you pick?

JBL and push out around 1500 watts at 1ohm with a 14.4 volt battery.

JBL does not come with a subsonic filter.

ED comes with everything you need (like subsonic filter)

ED has great stack options.

JBL is slightly cheaper... it puts out closer to 1300 watts.... and is a current hog... sound sdirty too....

missing teh SSF, confusing controls, if you get it from an online dealer, make sure its A stock stuff, because teh B stuff has issues with thteir power supplies...

the NINe.1, noone has seen yet... but, just from the specs and from Ben Milne, it is a vastly superiour amp... similar power at 1 ohm, all of the options, easy use, stackable, and relatively efficient... when mine gets here, we'll let ya know how it compares....

I have had the JBL and have burned out 2. They are decent amps, but ikesound is giving me alot of shit about the warranty.

The jbl could use more options, but it is a nice 1200 watt amp for the price. I would not recommend running the jbl at 1 ohm but you get around 1300 with a 14.4 battery at 2 ohms and close to 1500 at 1 ohm with a 14.4.

I hate that they do not have a subsonic filter, to much stress on cone.

I don't think that the jbl is dirty.

I am thinking of getting 1. I love the stack options, plus they are a decent priced amp.

how long is the wait for these eD nine.1's. I wanna order one now but I wanna know how long it will take because right now I dont have my system and I am getting new stuff but I dont want to wait 2 months for my amp. Anybody have any idea how long its gonna be till I would get it if I ordered it now?

tehy ahve NO word on teh shipping... it got hung up in customs... again... they can;'t get a date out of anyone, the shipping company, the customs, anybody...

blame it on those uppity Koreans... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

jsut wondering, can u get a SSF for them?? how much is it

Maybe this is a stupid question, but is there really any reason for a SSF? I mean, isn't it better to play all frequencies below the crossover point? What's to gain from cutting off lower frequncies?

in a ported box, excursion greatly increases below the tuning frequency... at a half an octave lower than tuning, the driver can start to exceed its mechanical limits (becuase of teh nature of hte box, the air suspension is no longer active). This can cause unloading, seriously damaging the driver.

Oh, ok. If you build a ported box tuned for higher frequencies, it may cause the driver to exceed it's physical limits at much lower frequencies. But if you tune the box for, say, 25-30hz, it won't exceed it's limits playing a 10hz tone (probably). Makes sense to me now. In the box I have now for my 12W7, it can easily play down to 10hz without stressing the driver too much, even though peak output is closer to 40-50hz. But it's a sealed box rather than ported.
