ok...this post is kinda related to one i saw earlier about wiring a jbl amp.

the bp1200 is a mono amp capable of handling a 2 ohm load right?

i was planning on starting my system out by running one sub with the amp(600 rms), then when i get more money, i will add another sub. i want to wire the subs to get a 2 ohm load, so as to get 600 to each sub. what kind of sub will i have to use? single voice coil? dual voice coil? 2, 4, 8 ohms?....please help me out...

p.s.-i was planning on using the infinity perfect subs(single 4 ohm coil)-would these subs be ok for the setup, and IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE A 4 OHM SUB, and run it with a 2 ohm load(which i want to do).....

thanks a lot guys..

peace;)

Yes, the 4 ohm SVC Perfects will work quite well for what you are considering.

To achieve the 2 ohm mono load at the amp, you will need to wire your subs in paralel.

Have a look at the link below for a pic on how to do this.

unregestered-- you can use either a svc sub or

a dual voice coil sub.

if you use a svc sub it will have to be a 4 ohm voice coil sub

to get 600 watts from your amp then when you get more money

you can get another svc 4 ohm sub ( same brand) and wire

both subs in parallel for a 2 ohm load to your amp

so each sub will be getting 600 watts each ( 1200 WATTS TOTAL)

( just make sure your subs are capable of handling the power)

or

you can use a 2 ohm dual voice coil sub wired in series for a 4 ohm load

to get 600 watts from your amp. then when you get more money

you can get another 2 ohm dual voice coil sub. (same brand)

and wire both subs in series/parallel for a 2 ohm load to your amp

for 600 watts to each sub. (1200 WATTS TOTAL)

(just make sure your subs are capable of handling the power)

HOPE THIS HELPS
