jbl and infinity

hey i was talking to a guy at crutchfield today and he said that jbl and infinity are basically the same sub(reference series and gt1204d). he said they are made on the same assembly line. is there any truth to that?

Both JBL and Infinity are owned by Harmon Industries (Harmon Kardon), so its very possible.

Yes, JBL and Infinity are owned by Harman Kardon and have similar specs. But in general Infinity is geared more toward SQ and JBL is geared more for SPL so it depends on what you like. Personally, I like JBL better and im running a P1024 sealed. Its very efficient and sounds very good.

I was also told this from wooferetc when ordering an out of stock infinity amp, also I ordered some infinity speakers and they came in a jbl box. I didn't know they were owned by Harman Kardon though, that explains why my dell speakers sound so good.
