Jbl 1201.1 at 1 ohm

I want to run my friends jbl at 1 ohm but it says its not stable. If I just want to try it, will it just go into protect and come back out or will I fry the crap out of it?

Just wondering. I don't understand why JBL went away from 1 ohm stable on the BP series to 2 ohm on the gto series. Thats real lame.

because the BPX series puts out full power @ 4ohm and 1ohm, while the GTO series does it at 2ohm. If you wanted to use your friend's amp @ 1ohm then you should have bought him/her a BPX.
